Step 1:

Courses – 24 credits

Compulsory – 13 credits: classes for 2015, 2016, 2017

- Structural Biology of Organisms – 4 credits

- Biology of Interactions Between Organisms – 4 credits

- Biology of Interactions Between Organisms and Environment – 4 credits

- Seminar – 1 credit

- Research

Compulsory – 13 credits:  classes for 2018 and subsequent years

- Introduction to Comparative Biology – 3 credits

- Biology of Interactions Between Organisms – 3 credits

- Biology of Interactions Between Organisms and Environment – 3 credits

- Mechanisms of Organic Evolution - 3 credits

- Seminar – 1 credit

- Research

 Step 3:

Project:

- Writing, delivery and presentation of research proposal in the first year

- Hand a copy of the Project Proposal, signed by your advisor, to the PGB secretary, on the date determined by the Coordinator;

- The Project Proposal is presented to a committee comprising PhD experts in the area of research;

- Deliver a copy of the final (revised) Project Proposal to the PGB secretary, on the date determined by the Coordinator, for approval by the Academic Council.

Step 4:

- Results of the qualifying exam are required to be provided to the PGB Coordination 18 months after entry (first registration).

 Step 5:

Defense:

- Thesis writing (dissertation norms and model);

- Delivery to members of the Final Evaluation Committee. The Committee must comprise three titular members (the advisor, one expert from UEM, and one from another institution) and two supplementary members (one from UEM and one from another institution);

- One copy of the dissertation, together with Chapter X of the Regulation, is to be provided to each member of the Committee (via PGB office);

- Thesis must be defended by the last day of February.

Step 6:

Post-defense:

- Delivery of the revised and corrected thesis and documents (diplome type choice, letter of agreement, Master’s Degree form; see PGB site) must be done within 45 days after the defense date;

- At least one article from the thesis must be submitted for publication within 60 days after the defense date;

- Only after the conclusion of these requirements will Degree Certification (diploma) be made (DAA).
